Corel Linux is a Debian Linux based distribution made by Corel Corporation and released in late 1999 year. Later Corel Linux development has been discontinued by the Corporation , because Corel Linux used CFM "X" file manager , the default "X" and KDE file manager is KFM. That makes the Corel Linux distribution incompatible with other versions of Linux. In the time that little Linux software has been available , this different KDE file manager is a big problem for Corel Linux and its users. Corel Linux a.k.a. Corel LinuxOS SE ( Second Edition ) is released and available for downloads in 2001. The major features are Corel WordPerfect Ofiice for Linux , a file manager very close to Internet Explorer and SmartMove. SmartMove is build around Wine libraries to read the Windows registry settings for the applications and to migrate them to Corel Linux. SmartMove checks for existing installations of Windows , goes further for individual users and offers to transfer application settings for equivalent applications under Linux. It deals really good with http cookies and bookmarks , MiRC , ICQ and so on..... Included applications are : Adobe's Acrobat Reader, RealPlayer, IBM's Java Virtual Machine, a complete set of OSS sound drivers, Myth II: Soulblighter, and some more demos. It's also included the Citrix , GraphOn and BRU backup package. Anyway .... Corel Linux is no more maintained! But the idea of SmartMove is still alive in another Debian Based Distribution : Ubuntu Linux
