Three Reasons to Install Linux and Two to Leave a Small Windows Partition

Everybody writes articles "Ten Reasons", "Five Reasons" and so on. Actually only one reason is enough, but it would be very boring to create an article "One Reason" to switch to Linux. The answer would be simple three words: money money and money again! In nowwa days everything is related to and about money! So thats why we created this website so the regular computer user can escape from the world of closed source software. Read and Enjoy!
Do you have an old PC at work or at home ? Here are three  reasons why to install Linux and two to keep small windows partition on your PC!

three reasons to install to Linux :

1. Open Source Software is FREE!

Just think about it! You have a small or even big bussiness and you have about 10-15 older PCs so what is that mean ? You have to buy OS and every single program for them, from office to antivirus and so on! If you just simply install Linux ( some user friendly distro, of course ) you will see how nice it feels. Linux is known to be more secured than every other closed source OS and to run faster on older PC configurations.
Now everybody is starting to use Windows 7? What is that mean? The new Windows came, you bought it, now the new office (2010 is still beta) is coming and you will buy it (because the old office is not compatible with the new Windows), new antivirus will be created soon (you will buy it) and a lot of the programs that you have you wil have to buy again because they are incompatible with the new Windows! Now I can bet you think:
-- "Thats bullshit, I am going to get everything for free from thepiratebay".
Well the answer is simple:
-- "Yes you will download, install and use it. But think a little, there is about 75% of a chance some hacker to put a little worm inside the installation that is only capturing you passwords, credit card info and so on, and sending it somewhere! Is it worthed? I would say NO"

2. Linux is beautiful

Linux is an eye candy. You can get all the effets of KWIN or COMPIZ working "out of the box". To the regular user this effects looks like the Mac OSXs ones but here you have a little bit bigger choise.
Linux is known to be very flexible. You can easily make it look like a MAC, Windows Vista or you can just let it be with the Linux look. You have a choice of a couple graphical envirouments, so if you get bored of KDE you can install and switch to GNOME with one easy mouse click and you will not loose a single file!

3. Package Management

Linux is known to be more reliable and everybody knows that Linux computer can be without a single reboot for a months or even years.
There are about 800 well known Linux viruses and over 100 000 well known for Windows, but the Linux users still have antivirus software that has the ability to scan and discover viruses on Windows partitions.
The new releases of some user friendly ditributions has got graphical package managers, that means that installing application is done by one mouse click, the application is secure (if it is from the official sources) and you will not get a virus (why paying $60 for Norton ?).  When you need certain program for Windows you have to start searching for it and have to buy it at the end. Once you try the virus free world you will love it.

two good reason why to keep a little windows partition on your PC

1. You need to dedicate more time

Yes in the very beggining you will have to dedicate more time than usual, just to get used to the new names. 85% of the everyday programs are coded well enough for Linux but thet have a little different design and the names are different.

2. Some applications are not well or at all supported

Unfortunately sometimes we all need windows, because some applications are incompatible even with Windows emulating enviroument like "wine". iTunes is one of them (You can never get it working with the iPhone, no matter how hard you try), some games and some specialized programs like AutoCAD and many many others!
